Hz Event Related Auditory Potential

چکیده
Main focus of this paper is an EEG experiment on observing frequency of event related auditory potential in response to series of clicks. Based on the past research, it was expected to observe 40 Hz potential, which was not the case. The experiment was conducted on one subject, and the average observed frequency of 61 Hz could be explained by individual differences. However, an additional step should be taken to validate this result. Furthermore, the paper contains detailed description of EEG and data acquisition setup, including the discussion of solutions to encountered technical challenges.

Separating stimulus-locked and unlocked components of the auditory event-related potential.
A new method is evaluated for separating stimulus-locked and unlocked components of auditory event-related EEG activity. The new method uses a regression based subtraction procedure as a way to account for latency and amplitude variability within individual trials. It was applied using the oddball paradigm under conditions of active and passive listening and analyzed as spectral correlations (n...

The neural response to occasional variations in acoustic stimuli in a regular sequence of sounds generates an N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor-modulated event-related potential in primates and rodents in the primary auditory cortex known as mismatch negativity (MMN). The current study investigated MMN in pigeons (Columba livia L) through intracranial recordings from Field L of the caudomedial nido...
متن کاملComparison of Pre-Attentive Auditory Discrimination at Gross and Fine Difference between Auditory Stimuli
Introduction Mismatch Negativity is a negative component of the event-related potential (ERP) elicited by any discriminable changes in auditory stimulation. Objective The present study aimed to assess pre-attentive auditory discrimination skill with fine and gross difference between auditory stimuli. Method Seventeen normal hearing individual participated in the study. To assess pre-attentive a...
متن کاملStudy on Brainwave Responses from Ears: the Event-related Synchronization under the Auditory Stimulus
The event-related synchronization (ERS) is one of the most important functions of brain activities (G. Pfurtscheller, et al. 1992). In order to observe the brain activity of the subjects heard the 40 Hz acoustic stimuli, the event-related potential (ERP) and electroencephalogram (EEG) images of the brain are used to analyze the auditory cortex area. In the present work, observation and explorin...
متن کاملAuditory event-related dynamics of the EEG spectrum and effects of exposure to tones.
A new measure of event-related brain dynamics, the event-related spectral perturbation (ERSP), is introduced to study event-related dynamics of the EEG spectrum induced by, but not phase-locked to, the onset of the auditory stimuli. The ERSP reveals aspects of event-related brain dynamics not contained in the ERP average of the same response epochs. Twenty-eight subjects participated in daily a...
